Lunch - The Budapest Cafe
A hectic lunch often calls for an even closer location to The University of Melbourne. As a student jumping between classes often only allows for one and a half hours of break. What does this mean? Essentially running out of the lecture hall and into the closest cafe we can find. It was in this type of scenario that we discovered The Budapest Cafe, just two simple tram stops away. This contemporary Japanese Cafe was truly a hidden gem, as it used both fresh Australian and native Japanese ingredients such as mentaiko in its dishes.

Interactivity
Unlike the exterior, once you step inside the colour palette is warm. The orange walls and minimalistic design of the store draws you into a sense of comfort. There are picture-perfect setups to make insta - perfect shots. Onto the food! This eatery has gone viral for its iconic pancake and upside-down ice cream. The interactivity of smashing the cone with the wooden hammer allows anyone to reduce their stress (ha - ha). As for mains, we tried the beef bourguignon and mentaiko pasta. Each dish was rich, warm and comforting.
This cafe is for sure a location that cannot be missed!
